Anita here, your wandering certified yoga instructor, kids yoga facilitator, wholistic wellness warrior-ess, and all round fun times advocate. Since 2000, I’ve been fortunate to call the breathtaking Whitsundays, home. Mat (my long-time lover) and I are partial to wanderlust, adventure and random changes of scenery. Often encompassing some unconventional life experiences; cause that’s the way we roll!
I’m inspired by adventure and new challenges, nature and a little of everything in moderation (sometimes including moderation). I’m all about balance or at least striving for it and attempting to live my experience as a model for others to reach for. My life is a paradox; you’re just as likely to hear of me jumping out of a perfectly good aircraft as you are to hear me speaking of foundation and grounding in a yoga class. You are just as likely to hear of my travel adventures as you are of me being a home hermit.
I discovered yoga in my teens in a North Shore clinic in Sydney. I was an inpatient attempting to get a grip on my bulimia. It wasn’t a fast fix but over the next 30 years, the practice continued to allow me to explore who “I AM”. Yoga provided that place where I could safely confront body image and a low self-esteem and work gradually to break down a cycle of self-abuse.
My own story is my motivation behind my drive to promote the healing effects through yoga; particularly for our children who are entitled to truly come to know themselves and their own shining light and have the tools to become their own practitioner.

WHO ARE YOU?
I have many roles that I cherish – a devoted daughter, sister, partner and friend.
I AM a yogi student and teacher, an advocate of personal development, an avid reader (often with way too many books on the go at one time!), a journal-er turned blogger, a poet turned kids storyteller. I AM a thrill-seeker and avid participant in living and loving life.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I was born a Northern Beaches, Sydney girl where I spent the first 20-something years of my life. My partner refers to me as a city chic but at heart I couldn’t be further removed from that life. I discovered travel, which stirred my wanderlust pot and kept me on the move – in some way, shape or form – for many years. In stages I slowly began moving my way up the east coast of Australia to finally land in the Whitsundays; a place I am proud to call my home of the past 20 years.
WHAT IS YOUR BLOG ABOUT?
Yoga and building a community to inspire everyone from young to old. It’s about life, living and finding some balance in all forms through my eyes in the hope of building connections and a slip-stream of life enthusiasts.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PRACTICING YOGA?
I started practicing in my mid to late teens and began my teacher training at 48.
WHAT KIND OF YOGA DO YOU TEACH?
My adult training was in Hatha style yoga with a strong focus on alignment. My kids training began in developing class programs to engage and excite kids about yoga. I then branched (no tree pose pun intended) out to begin my journey into Yoga Therapy as a tool for kids with special needs.
WHERE DO YOU TEACH?
At Yoga Therapies, Cannonvale and I am building an online platform for more one-on-one and specific therapies
